Titan Project

TITAN
TUMOR IMMUNOTHERAPY BY NANOTECNOLOGY

PROJECT DURATION 910day

TITAN launched, the competitive project funded by MUR – Ministry of University and Research and born within TecnoMed Puglia, the Technopole for Precision Medicine funded by the Puglia Region to support translational medical research.

In addition to the facilities of Tecnomed Puglia, which is based at the CnrNanotec in Lecce, the TITAN project involves the IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, La Sapienza University of Rome, the National Research Council, the Polytechnic of Bari and the company STMicroelectronics.

..great challenge
to achieve great goals

  • immunotherapy with genetically engineered T cells
  • but cost is currently very expensive
  • quality control on chip
  • bioinformatic analyses
    • continuous sampling of critical quality attributes, deviations from the desired range
    • quickly recognised and appropriate corrective actions of process parameters may be promptly taken
    • integration sample preparation and analytical modules into a fully automated platform
    • develop cheaper and efficient synthetic nanovectors, hence abolishing the risks of insertional mutagenesis
    • bioinformatic analyses of cell enginering products
    • immunotherapy with engineered T cells safer, more efficient, cheaper and more easily available
    • make the treatment sustainable by health care system
    • TITAN is determined to contribute economic growth in Southern Italy
